Magnet Open Art Project: This project was an exhibition of Modern Magnetic Miniatures in August, 2011. It was the first exhibition of its kind in North America. Artist, Alban Low, conceptualized several magnet exhibitions in England. Tom Hosmer participated in one of those exhibitions and decided to bring it to the States and call it the Magnet Open Art Project (MOAP). Alban offered to help with the project and serve as a mentor/technical advisor. Tom approached the New Hampshire chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA-NH) to co-sponsor the exhibition. Artists submitted their artwork digitally to the project website.The artwork was printed on a magnet that had a serial number and the MOAP-WCA Concord website address. The artist’s artwork along with their website was on the website. Two magnets are created, one for the exhibition and one for the artist. The exhibition will took place over two days on August 26 and 27, 2011 in Concord, NH.
